Today we bid a fond farewell to Bryce Canyon City and headed to Virgin, Utah. This was to be our base of operations for most of the remainder of our trip. Virgin is located basically in the middle of the three sections of Zion National Park.
Our chosen route took us back through Red Canyon (affording a quick view of the other side of the tunnels) and back out to I-15.

The Zion River Resort is very nice. It is right on the Virgin River, and the spots are large and well-laid-out. Mathea really liked the pool, which is important!
